Fuck Politeness

This is a revolution, not a public relations movement

This story of a family who survived.

I can’t imagine how terrified they must have been, particularly the 12 year old left to supervise his 2 and 3 year old siblings while his parents were outside.

He did so well not to freak out and run outside, not to utterly panic his siblings, to stay where he was and just wait.

It’s beyond my comprehension, the sort of self-willed calm required of a child in that situation, and it’s just something too big to ask of a child, and yet he managed.

And the parents…it must take all your effort to fight against the instinct to rush back to your kids and hold them while they are so frightened, even though you know that you’re helping them more in the long run by being away from them.

I can’t get my head around how many people have died, or let myself think for too long about how scared and anguished these people must have been.
